A message from Stevi Ennis and her extended family of all God's reatures great and small:
Okay, now comes the time where I ask! I don't normally and don't feel comfortable asking for help, but here it is. I have always believe that God will provide for me without me having to ask others, but I think the time has come for me to put out the request. Not just for me, but for my son Braedon and our animals too.
We, a group of wonderful supporters, are looking for letters to the editor (as many as possible, there are never too many). Ideas of reaching any and all animal activists, organizations, concerned citizens, and/or others. Use your contacts. I understand the ruling of the deed restriction based on using the property as a residence only and am in complete compliance with and will continue to be so. However, I have an issue with builders telling us what animals we can and cannot have on our properties.
And for the legal system to define household pets using both as nouns is absurd. A third grader knows that "household" is the adjective describing the noun pets. Just ask Braedon, he'll tell you. There are many dogs and cats who are considered household pets living with families who have never seen the inside of the home and they are still considered household pets. I believe it is our free right and privilege to have the animals we choose as pets. Here we have pets that are happy, safe and loved who will have to be displaced or put to sleep because some neighbors have an issue with me.
I am not perfect and do not think I am even close. I did not take these animals in to intentionally hurt or bother others. I was not aware of the deed restrictions. I did call the township before getting the first babies to make sure there weren't any restrictions and they told me that I am in an agricultural zone and there are none other than the 1,000 pounds of animal per acre.
A neighbor who moved in a year ago said that he had no idea that the deed restriction limited animals until he went back and read them recently. Debbie and Dwayne Piper who just moved to the neighborhood in August said there wasn't a complete review during their settlement. The point is, I did not make this mess on purpose. This was a farm long before I bought it and I was "just bringing a little of the country back to the country", as James Lee another neighbor stated it.
Please help in whatever way you can. Ideas, word of mouth to every and anybody you know. Call the newspapers and ask if there is any follow up information to prompt a follow up story, check out any possible avenue you may come up with.
I love my pets and so does everybody who has had the opportunity to meet them. At the festivals and fairs, they have been the favorite. They are very friendly and love to get and give attention. PLEASE HELP!!! They are Braedon and my family. Strange family it is, but nonetheless, they are our family!!!! Thanks for all you do.
